On April 2nd, WatchKeeper’s leadership team, Daniel Whatmuff and Hugh Farquhar, completed the National Cyber Security Centre’s nine-week Cyber Accelerator programme.
Every year, the NCSC, in partnership with Wayra, selects a number of start-ups identified as the next generation of leading cybersecurity companies in the UK. The Spring 2021 cohort centred on the theme of smart cities. WatchKeeper used the focus on the Internet of Things to further develop its unique geospatial SaaS platform with new IoT data streams. WatchKeeper’s development of geospatial data insights and situational awareness software was supported by numerous workshops, courses and the mentorship of NCSC and Wayra during the programme.
Some of the highlights of the Cyber Accelerator programme included:
  • Value proposition workshops with Deborah Wood, Value Proposition Design Coach at Wayra, Telefonica’s Accelerator Programme
  • Pitching Masterclass with Anthony King, Scale-up Consultant with Wayra
  • Press and Media session with the NCSC Press Team
  • Pricing workshops with Jenny Millar, Founder of Untapped Pricing
  • Personalised mentorship sessions with the Wayra and NCSC Teams
WatchKeeper successfully launched its innovative critical event management platform on March 11th, just halfway through the Cyber Accelerator programme.
WatchKeeper’s future plans include building partnerships with new data providers, continuing the development of AI-driven decision-making and risk analysis in the WatchKeeper platform, and iterating on its market strategy.
